Paul Meilhat about The Ocean Race Europe: "It's a very powerful, very energising, very team-centred dynamic. We are well-acquainted with the race's structure and organisation. What's more, this summer, we have the means at our disposal to secure a good result in this format, which aligns well with our abilities and the potential of the boat. We've put together a big team of winners, fighting machines with Figaro sailor profiles, who will enable us to pack real punch out on the racetrack, be key contenders in this race and tell a great story."

Amélie Grassi, daughter of two sailing parents, put her law degree on hold in 2017 to explore opportunities as a professional ocean racer.

During two years racing on the Mini 6.50 circuit – where she was a regular podium finisher over the 2018 and 2019 seasons – Grassi graduated to the larger Class 40 fleet where she became solo skipper of La Boulangère Bio. Three days after the start of the 2022 Route du Rhum solo transatlantic race from France to the Caribbean her 40-foot yacht was dismasted while in tenth place in the 41-boat Class 40 fleet.

Grassi was racing around the world for the first time in the 2022/23 edition of The Ocean Race.

Jackson ‘Jack’ Bouttell is an extremely versatile and experienced offshore professional who won the first Ocean Race Europe 2021 with the Mirpuri Foundation Racing Team and skipper Yoann Richomme, against whom he is now competing in the second edition alongside Paul Meilhat.

Born in Taree, Australia, British/Australian sailor is one of the most in-demand professional sailors racing in the world. In his solo career Jack has completed four Solitaire du Figaro campaigns including finishing 1st Rookie on his debut in 2013 – the first British sailor to do so.

He joined Dongfeng Race Team midway through the 2014/15 edition of The Volvo Ocean Race, racing onboard for Leg 3 from Abu Dhabi to Sanya in China – with the team winning into their home waters.

In 2016 Jack joined the crew of the mighty trimaran Spindrift 2, the largest racing trimaran in the world at 40m, and won the Québec–Saint-Malo, setting a new race record. Jack raced with Dongfeng Race Team for the 2017/18 Volvo Ocean Race, this time resulting in the team claiming victory in the world longest offshore race.

In 2018 and 2019 and Jack returned to the maxi trimaran Spindrift 2 for his two attempts at the Trophée Jules-Verne, before completing his fourth Solitaire du Figaro campaign in 2020. In the same year, he was also part of the Mirpuri Foundation Racing Team’s winning crew in two regattas on board the Racing For The Planet VO65.

Benjamin Ferré is a Breton sailor and entrepreneur, in love with life and crazy challenges. After a transatlantic sail with a sextant, a solo round-the-world hitchhiking trip and a crossing of Morocco in a 4L, he launched IMAGO in 2017; the first adventure incubator in France, dedicated to hatching sports, ecological and solidarity exploration projects.

In 2017, he put his first foot in the totally unknown world of ocean racing. Two years later, he reached the podium of the 2019 Mini Transat on board Pile Poil, Clarisse Crémer's former Mini, and finished first Bizuth.

After talking to Jean Le Cam, the idea of sailing around the world single-handed without stopovers and without assistance germinated in him. He gave his all to participate in the 2024 edition. In 2022, he took over the helm of Banque Populaire, having just returned from the round the world race with Clarisse Crémer, and took part in his first solo IMOCA race in the Guyader Bermuddx 1000 Race, which he finished in 11th place. He was then joined by the Monnoyeur Group and the Duo for a job association for the other races of the 2022 season.

In 2023, Benjamin Ferré took Pierre Le Roy on board for the double-handed season.

On February 3, 2025, Benjamin Ferré crossed the finish line of the Vendée Globe in Les Sables-d'Olonne in 16th place, but more importantly, as the first daggerboard IMOCA, just minutes ahead of his closest rival, Tanguy Le Turquais.
