Kiel loves the wind and sustainable mobility! If you want to follow the exciting stages of the Ocean Race Europe from the shore, the SprottenFlotte, the regional bike-sharing system in the Kiel region, is a quick, easy, inexpensive and, above all, environmentally friendly way to get there.
SprottenFlotte is the joint bike-sharing system for Kiel and the surrounding districts of Plön and Rendsburg-Eckernförde. With over 1,200 bicycles, including e-bikes and cargo bikes, it offers a flexible mobility solution for everyday life, leisure, and events such as the Ocean Race Europe.
With SprottenFlotte, you can get to the Ocean Race easily, spontaneously, and in a climate-friendly way—without having to search for parking or deal with traffic jams.
Whether you're coming from Gaarden, Elmschenhagen, or Kronshagen, with SprottenFlotte you can easily reach the Ocean Race hotspots on two wheels:
• Stations along the Kiellinie, at the main train station, Schrevenpark, Ostseekai, or Seefischmarkt

Saddle up, set off, and watch the sails!
The first half hour with the standard bike is free of charge, ideal for the trip to the fjord. If you arrive early, you can get into the race mood with a tour along the promenade. Whether alone, with friends, or with family, the SprottenFlotte not only gets you around, it also connects places, people, and the region.
New pop-up stations for even more race excitement
To ensure optimal accessibility to the Ocean Race, we have set up several temporary pop-up stations at these strategic points around the event site:
• “Ocean Race” in Förderblick Park on the Kiellinie (also known as Bayernzelt-Wiese during KiWo)
• Event site Ölpier / Mönkeberger BeachLounge
• Helmut-Hänsler-Platz, Dietrichsdorf
• Eksol, Mönkeberg
The temporary stations will take you close to the water, right into the race, and safely back again.
So, hop on your bike and dive into the race experience!
