Stadtwerke Kiel supplies the region with electricity, gas, water and district heating. We deliver our products wherever private households and businesses need them, providing our customers with a secure and reliable service each and every day.
However, our goal is to be more than just a supplier. We want to actively contribute to the development of the region and support the people who live here. In collaboration with the local authorities in Kiel and Kiel Marketing, we’ve been organising the “Sailing camp powered by Stadtwerke Kiel” along the Kiellinie for over 20 years
Climate and environmental protection are among the greatest challenges of the future. In recent years, we have launched several initiatives that have brought us closer to achieving these goals. As an energy provider located by the coast, we feel particularly committed to marine conservation.
In collaboration with the local authorities in Kiel and Kiel Marketing, we’ve been organising the “Sailing camp powered by Stadtwerke Kiel” along the Kiellinie for over 20 years. The main aim of this camp is to make sailing affordable for children and young people. Alongside sailing skills, values like teamwork, communication and social skills are also taught here. Sustainability and marine conservation have come to play an increasingly important role at the sailing camp over the years. The use of green electricity, electric motors for the support boats, environmentally-friendly sailing trips and a dedicated sustainability concept are now all integral features of the sailing camp. The focus is on inspiring children and young people to engage with environmental and marine conservation issues, and teaching them to love the sea. After all, we can only love and protect the things that we understand.
We are therefore proud to be a local partner of “The Ocean Race Europe”. This prestigious, international sporting event is a great platform to raise awareness of marine conservation, climate change and the challenges associated with this. We’re delighted to be lending our support.
